A Review of Optical Ultrasound Imaging Modalities for Intravascular Imaging

چکیده
Recent advances in medical imaging include integrating photoacoustic and optoacoustic techniques with conventional modalities. The developments the latter have led to use of optics combined ultrasound technique for intravascular tissues applied different areas human body. Conventional is a skin contact-based method used imaging. It does not expose patients harmful radiation compared other such as Computerised Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans. On hand, optical Ultrasound (OpUS) provides new way viewing internal organs body by using an eye-safe laser range. OpUS mostly binary measurements since they do require be resolved at much higher resolution but can check Various signal processing reconstruction methodologies exist Photo-Acoustic Imaging, their applicability bioimaging explored this paper.

Trimodality imaging system and intravascular endoscopic probe: combined optical coherence tomography, fluorescence imaging and ultrasound imaging.
In this Letter, we present a trimodality imaging system and an intravascular endoscopic probe for the detection of early-stage atherosclerotic plaques. The integrated system is able to acquire optical coherence tomography (OCT), fluorescence, and ultrasound images and simultaneously display them in real time. A trimodality intravascular endoscopic probe of 1.2 mm in diameter and 7 mm in length ...
متن کاملIntegrated intravascular optical coherence tomography ultrasound imaging system.
We report on a dual-modality optical coherence tomography (OCT) ultrasound (US) system for intravascular imaging. To the best of our knowledge, we have developed the first integrated OCT-US probe that combines OCT optical components with an US transducer. The OCT optical components mainly consist of a single-mode fiber, a gradient index lens for light-beam focusing, and a right-angled prism for...
متن کاملIntravascular and Intracardiac Ultrasound Imaging
C onsiderable attention is currently being focused on the development of intravascular and intracardiac ultrasound imaging.1-4 Variously termed as "ultrasound angioscopy," "intravascular ultrasound imaging," or "intraluminal ultrasound imaging," this technique basically refers to the imaging modality of visualizing blood vessels and cardiac structures by an ultrasound transducer placed at the t...
متن کاملIntravascular Ultrasound Imaging of Coronary Arteries
Background. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the significance of the three-layered appearance of coronary arteries in adolescence and adults from intravascular ultrasound scans and to correlate these observations with histopathology. Methods and Results. Sixteen intact hearts were excised at autopsy from patients with no clinical history of coronary artery disease. The patients' ages r...

Intravascular ultrasound imaging of the coronary artery has become an accepted standard in the evaluation of atherosclerotic lesions.1'8 It provides more accurate measurements of stenosis areas as well as a qualitative determination of the histologic components of atherosclerotic plaque.9"11 Recently, intravascular ultrasound of the pulmonary artery has been validated as a reliable and rapid me...
